Tom Meade is a California state licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. Tom's career in acupuncture began after he pursued treatment for chronic headaches. Following his first acupuncture treatment, Tom experienced immediate relief of his headache pain. So inspired by this experience, Tom decided to pursue training in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, in San Diego. After completing a four year master's degree, Tom became licensed and has been practicing since 2011. Since starting his practice, Tom has completed all of the course work for a two year doctorate of acupuncture and oriental medicine (DAOM) and is in the process of writing his capstone/ dissertation project. Tom's practice is focused on family medicine: pain and orthopedic conditions, pediatrics, neurological conditions, geriatric care, mental health, and obstetrics and gynecology. Aside from his private practice, Tom also volunteers at Father Joe's Village in downtown San Diego running an acupuncture/ smoking cessation group and treating clients with a variety of pain conditions. Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife Somer and son Baer. He is an avid scuba diver and has been practicing Danzan Ryu Ju Jitsu for nine years.
