Karen is a California Licensed Acupuncturist. She graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy. Since 2002, she shifted her focus onto health and whole food nutrition by working with sustainable and local agriculture through the farmers markets of New York City. She also has trained extensively in martial arts under Master Fukui Yang in Tai Chi, Xing Yi Five Element Forms, and Qi Gong. Karen then went on to earn her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College. She has advanced integrative clinical training through Rady Children's Hospital with a concentration in pediatric chronic pain and oncology, as well as UCSD Seniors Clinic with a focus on PTSD.
Karen is a general practitioner with continuing success working with pediatric behavioral health, especially those diagnosed with ADHD. She also specializes in hypertension, digestive health, including weight loss, and stress management. As an avid outdoorsman, she is currently working to bring Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs into the field of Wilderness and Expedition Medicine. Karen is committed to the ideology of an fully integrated medical future which utilizes Eastern and Western medical approaches to best suit each individual in achieving optimum health.
